Your first dental visit at ProDent

Your first appointment starts with a conversation about your needs and an assessment of your oral health. Together, we work out the next steps. If you have tooth pain, tell reception when you book.

This guide describes a planned first appointment for comprehensive dental care. We look at your mouth as a whole, discuss your concerns and identify what needs attention before agreeing a course of treatment.

Have tooth pain? Call +48 570 400 405 and describe your symptoms. New patients may receive treatment at their first visit, depending on the dentist’s assessment and appointment availability. A same-day appointment cannot be guaranteed.

What to bring and tell us

Bring a list of your medicines, information about allergies and medical conditions, and any recent dental records or X-rays you have. Tell your dentist about previous difficulties with treatment, anxiety, pregnancy or any other needs that may affect your care.

Our clinic is at Prudnicka 3/1u, 48-300 Nysa, Poland. If you need help communicating during the appointment, contact reception before booking so that arrangements can be discussed. For treatment involving several visits, agree a schedule before making travel plans.

What happens at your first appointment?

  1. RegistrationWe complete the information and consent arrangements needed for your visit.
  2. Medical historyYou discuss your health, previous dental care and current concerns with the dentist.
  3. Imaging if neededThe dentist may recommend images from our on-site X-ray facilities, depending on the examination.
  4. Dental examinationWe assess your teeth, gums and oral health, then explain the findings and next steps.

A planned first visit is usually an assessment appointment. Treatment is not normally carried out at this stage. We often recommend professional cleaning before a more detailed review and treatment plan. This may include scaling, air polishing and polishing, according to your needs.

If you are unsure which appointment to select, call reception. You can also read our practical advice before visiting.

Your treatment plan, step by step

After any recommended cleaning, we can carry out a more detailed review. Your individual plan sets out:

  • the treatment proposed and the available options;
  • the order of appointments, with health priorities first;
  • the estimated cost of each planned procedure.

We explain the plan before treatment begins and discuss changes if new findings affect the proposed care. Ask about anything that is unclear, including alternatives, expected benefits, risks and follow-up appointments.

What does comprehensive dental care mean?

It means considering how the different parts of your treatment fit together, rather than planning each procedure in isolation.

The whole mouth
We consider the health and function of your teeth and gums together.
The underlying problem
Assessment helps identify the cause of symptoms and the care needed.
Clear costs
You can discuss the stages and estimated costs before deciding to proceed.

Preparing for braces, implants or cosmetic treatment

Decay, gum disease and other active problems may need attention before orthodontic treatment, implants or cosmetic restorations. The dentist will explain the preparation relevant to your case and whether further assessment is needed.

Our treatment options include orthodontics, dental implants, crowns, bridges and dentures, and professional whitening.

First visits for children and adults

For children, the first visit also helps them become familiar with the dental setting. The dentist looks at how their teeth and bite are developing and talks with parents about daily care. For adults, we focus on current oral health, function, comfort and personal treatment goals.

Prices and payment

ProDent provides private dental care. The English price list shows prices in US dollars (USD), and we discuss the cost before starting treatment. Instalment plans are not currently available through our English-language service. See the price list and payment information for details.

Questions about your first visit

Will treatment start at my first appointment?

A planned first appointment is usually an assessment. If you have pain, tell reception when booking. Treatment may be possible at the first visit, depending on availability and the dentist's assessment.

Why might I need cleaning before the final plan?

Removing plaque and tartar can make it easier to assess the teeth and gums. Your dentist will explain whether professional cleaning is needed and when to arrange the next review.

When will I receive my treatment plan?

For comprehensive treatment, this is usually at a follow-up appointment after any recommended cleaning and further assessment. The plan explains the stages and estimated costs.

How much does comprehensive treatment cost?

It depends on your needs and the options you choose with your dentist. A staged plan helps you understand the order of care and the expected spending at each stage.

Can I move on to braces or implants afterwards?

Once your oral health has been assessed and any necessary initial care completed, your dentist can advise whether orthodontic or implant treatment is appropriate. Further assessment may be needed.
