Dental equipment and technology

From 3D imaging to digital impressions, our equipment helps us assess your teeth, explain the findings and plan your treatment.

Dental equipment used at ProDent Dental Clinic

Dental X-rays and 3D imaging

Some treatment decisions require a view beneath the surface of your teeth and gums. At our clinic in Nysa, we use the DEXIS OP 3D LX for panoramic and cephalometric X-rays, as well as cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans.

Your dentist selects the type of examination and the area to be imaged according to the clinical question. The images are interpreted by a clinician and considered alongside your dental examination. Learn more about our dental X-ray and CBCT facilities.

Miglionico dental chairs

Our three treatment rooms are equipped with Miglionico dental chairs. Their adjustable positioning allows us to adapt the chair to the procedure. The chair-side monitor also helps us show you findings and discuss your treatment plan.

If you find a position uncomfortable during your visit, let the team know so we can discuss an adjustment.

Digital impressions with 3Shape TRIOS 6

For many treatments, we can take a digital impression using the 3Shape TRIOS 6 intraoral scanner instead of a conventional impression tray and material. The resulting 3D model supports the planning of crowns, bridges and other restorations, as well as ONCE clear aligner treatment.

How an intraoral scan helps

  • An alternative to impression material. The scanner captures images of your teeth. This can be helpful if conventional impressions trigger your gag reflex.
  • A 3D model for planning. Your dentist and the dental laboratory can work from a digital impression. The fit of a restoration still needs to be checked clinically.
  • A clearer conversation. Viewing the model together helps us explain your current dental condition and discuss possible treatment options.
  • Colour images. The scan provides a colour view of the teeth and surrounding tissues to support that discussion.

The time needed for a scan varies with the conditions in your mouth. Your dentist will decide when a digital impression is appropriate; it is not needed at every stage of treatment.

Microscope-assisted dentistry

We use the ZUMAX OMS 2380 microscope during root canal treatment and selected restorative and surgical procedures. Magnification helps the dentist see fine details in the treatment area, including root canal openings and cracks that may be difficult to see with the naked eye.

The microscope supports visibility during treatment. The outcome also depends on the condition of the tooth and other clinical factors. Read more about root canal treatment under a microscope.

Discuss your treatment options

Equipment is one part of your care. Meet our dental team or book a consultation to discuss which examinations and treatment options are suitable for you.
